How accurate is the EZ Mold Test Kit?

Answer:

The EZ Mold Test Kit detects the genus of all molds cultured inside the Petri dish. The laboratory analysis will also provide a colony count to help compare indoor and outdoor air samples.

Can the MX-501™ be used on drywall?

Answer:

Yes.

Will MX-501™ remove or change the color of mold?

Answer:

The product may change the color of the mold.

Can I treat carpet with MX-501™?

Answer:

Carpets, carpet cushions upholstery, drapes and other porous materials, sub floors, drywall, trim and frame lumber, tackless strip and paneling: To use as a deodorizer against water damage, extract the excess water. Test hidden area for colorfastness. Dilute 6 to 12 ounces of this product per gallon of water allowing for the diluting effect of absorbed water within saturated materials. Remove gross filth or heavy soil. Apply directly with a mechanical spray device to fully saturate affected materials. For spray applications, spray 6-8 inches from surface. Roll, brush or agitate into materials and allow the materials to remain damp for 10 minutes. Follow with a thorough extraction. Dry rapidly and thoroughly.

Will MX-501™ prevent mold growth?

Answer:

MX-501™ controls the growth of mold and mildew on pre-cleaned hard, non-porous inanimate surfaces such as floors, walls, table tops. Add 4 oz. of this product per 1 gallon of water (488 ppm active) (or equivalent use dilution). Apply use solution by cloth, sponge, mop, brush, auto scrubber, mechanical spray device, hand pump, coarse pump or trigger spray device to thoroughly wet all treated surfaces completely. For spray applications, spray 6-8 inches from surface. Do not breathe spray. Saturate surfaces with use solution. Allow surface to remain wet for 10 minutes. Allow solution to dry on surface and repeat treatment every seven days or when new growth appears. Change cloth, sponge or towels frequently to avoid redeposition of soil. Change the solution at least daily or when use solution becomes visibly soiled.

Can MX-501™ be used in a washing machine?

Answer:

No.

Can MX-501™ be used on new construction?

Answer:

Yes, however, it can only be used on trim and frame lumber.

How much do I saturate the surface with MX-501™?

Answer:

Saturate surfaces with use solution. Allow surface to remain wet for 10 minutes. Allow solution to dry on surface and repeat every seven days or when new growth appears. Change cloth, sponge or towels frequently to avoid redeposition of soil. Change the solution at least daily or when use solution becomes visibly soiled.

What is the coverage for the Mold Armor Mold Remover and Disinfectant RTU?

Answer:

The gallon will cover 100 sq. ft. of surface area and the 2.5 gallon will cover 250 sq. ft.

What's the best way to apply the Mold Armor Mold Remover and the Disinfectant RTU?

Answer:

Use a mechanical sprayer like a regular garden pump sprayer. Spray a damp mist coat on all surfaces to be treated. Be sure the Remover and Disinfectant will keep the surfaces damp for at least 10 minutes.

Do I need protective equipment when using your products?

Answer:

Protective equipment is highly recommended. When working in a moldy environment with chemicals, be sure to wear a P100 respirator that also protects against organic vapors and acid gas. Also, wear gloves, goggles that completely cover your eyes, and full body coveralls.

How often do I need to reapply the MX-501™ to prevent mold from returning?

Do you sell anything to remove mold from sofas, couches, loveseats or other upholstered surfaces?

Answer:

No, fabric surfaces can rarely be saved from mold growth.

How come I used your product and I still have mold spores in the air?

Answer:

No chemical will remove mold spores from the air. Contaminated air must be filtered out properly under negative pressure using HEPA grade air movers or purifiers. This should be done by a Certified Mold Remediation company.

How do I get rid of the mold in a property that was flooded in a hurricane?

Answer:

Start by having the home tested. The first step is to find out the full extent of contamination to get an idea how to go about treating. Once this is done, you can figure out what products we sell that might help you.

What is the best way to remove mold from ductwork?

Answer:

Ductwork must be cleaned or removed by either a Certified Mold Remediation company or a professional Duct Cleaning company. A fungicide alone may kill mold and mold spores in the ductwork, but it's unable to remove the dead mold, and lingering dead mold and spores can cause health problems, just like living mold.
